he's too negative
dark euphoria
it's bruce sterling, that's the way he is
I'm interested in the narrative
ok. now see - if i didn't trust you - well - for one i probably would have never come across that video - but two - i would have never finished watching it. and dang - stuff i totally needed to hear.
you're losing nothing by getting rid of these things - they are social relationships imposed on you buy others
wouldn't doing this yourself and then telling the story to others be a great thing?
a gift really
because of what it does to you
makes you a more authentic you
it's all about relationships
this just confirms that meaning comes from relationships
i loved how he compared environmentalism to your dead great grandfather
and holding on to things that you don't need make you commit to relationships that don't yield meaning
it's so strange - because i hold on to things because of relationships i don't want to lose
and in the process - i'm so cluttered - and lose time with people who are alive
the gothic high tech - stop acting like you're dead - don't take in tools just because they are shiny - things need to be useful and worth sharing
the favela chic - the stuffed animal - sounded like edupunk
the place where they're not payingn attention - you get a lot done
he was saying of the stuffed animals - like the buillding they were meeting in - internal structures with not facilities, the chairs that just fold up afterward - he said - no one pays attention - because it's not all shiny - i'm thinking - no one expects anything could be going on in a stuffed animal
so - since they're not watching and pounding down ridiculous rules - a lot gets done
